A Weekend at Bear Lake

Friday-Sunday, August 27th-29th--Bear Lake is such a beautiful place. The water is tropical looking. It's great to have family with connections! Thanks to a generous family trust, my brother-in-laws family owns a brand new cabin (house) up in Bear Lake. It's an investment property so it's not always available for the family due to renters. This weekend they got lucky, no one had rented it out so we headed up. WOW! This house is absolutely amazing! It has several rooms and sleeps 28 people. It has a game room, theater room, hot tub, huge swing set, 2 kitchens, etc. We loved being here! The weather wasn't so great for boating but I didn't mind a bit. It was nice to relax and do whatever. On Saturday, Alishia, Samantha and I decided to hit up all the tourist shops in the area. We had a great time and, of course, had to stop and get a shake on the way back. Bear Lake is famous for raspberries and you will find most fast food places advertising raspberry shakes. Yummy!

The kitchens were fully stocked with everything we needed except the food so we brought food and made all our meals at the house. It was so nice we didn't have to pack much--there was even a huge laundry room.

We really enjoyed the theater room! We could dim the lights, relax in the theater recliners and watch movies or regular cable TV. Nate practically drooled the whole time! He wants a theater room and has for a while.

Brady's 2nd loose tooth has been loose for over a month. It's been quite wobbly too and ready to be pulled out for a couple of weeks. He would not let us pull it even though the permanent tooth was already coming in behind it. My sister, Alishia is known to get any kid to allow her to pull their tooth without much drama. We tried to convince Brady she would get it out without any problem or much pain. He refused. Finally, we had to hold him down and let her get it out. He thrashed and screamed and all the sudden Alishia sees the tooth on his lip. His little tantrum caused the tooth to come out on it's own. Then he says, "Oh, that didn't hurt at all!". What a goofball! He was happy the Tooth Fairy came that night. I hope we don't have to go through this with every loose tooth! Seriously, this child deals with multiple finger pokes daily and his infusion site being changed every 3 days (big needle involved) and he freaks out about a loose tooth being pulled?!? I don't get it.

On Sunday night we headed back home. Had to get Elise back for school. We were sad to leave and hope we get invited back soon!
